Preservation of Sabine Farms

Sabine Farms was one of several experimental farming communities founded during the Great Depression to help feed struggling families. After the government ended the project in 1944, Sabine Farms was sold and later managed by Bishop College. But following the release of the property by Bishop in the 1960s, many of Sabine Farms' structures were lost. North American’s Caddo Creek Resources Company, which is actively reclaiming the Marshall Mine, saw an opportunity to help preserve the land and took on the task of maintaining what remains of this once vibrant community.
